SPEECH BUBBLES
Speech bubbles are used in comics. Always write the text before drawing the speech bubble. Jagged edged speech bubbles show yelling. Cloud-like bubbles are used for the characters thoughts. You can add your own kind of shapes to tell how a person is speaking. Broken up dotted lines are used for whispering.
Cartoon- ANIMALS
Drawing animals as characters are a favourite of mine. Draw simple 2-d shapes. You can create a character out of simple shapes. The main ones are square(or rectangle), circle and triangle. Shade in to make 3-d.
Or for advanced use 3-d shapes. Add your own original touches.
CARTOON HAIR
Hair is not an important feature on your character. You only need to draw a squiggle for hair or leave it bald. Some character’s hair is important as it is the main feature. For example Homer Simpson has a few strands of hair while Marge Simpson main feature is her tall,blue tower of hair. It depends on what you want your character’s personality to be like. Wild hair shows a crazy personality. Neat hair shows normal personlity.
